Theatre Scholarship For 2007-2008

The Ohio State University at Mansfield has established a Theatre Scholarship of ½ tuition for one year (3 quarters) for a new student interested in Theatre.  There are also similar scholarships in Music, Art, and Creative Writing.  A student planning to major or minor in two or more of the arts areas may wish to apply in several areas for joint consideration for a scholarship.

The criteria for this Theatre Scholarship include:

1. eligibility for admission to Ohio State University as a new student
   (planning to major or minor in Theatre is preferable, but not necessary)
2. a minimum high school GPA of 2.0

3. a letter requesting to be considered for this scholarship

4. a current resume of theatre activities

5. a letter of recommendation from your high school drama director or an equivalent director/supervisor who is familiar with your theatre work

6. an audition consisting of two contrasting monologues with a combined length of no more than five minutes

   OR

   a portfolio of pictures and drawings from your technical theatre work (appropriate materials may include photographs or slides, floor plans, elevations,perspective drawings, light plots, or other materials)

7. an interview with the OSU-Mansfield Selection Committee

After review of submissions, candidates will be contacted to arrange for an appointment.   This appointment will include both the audition and the interview for performers, or it will consist of the interview for technical theatre applicants (at this time the portfolio of materials should be submitted).
