Constitution of The Campus Activities Board at The Ohio State University-Mansfield & North Central State College
Article I. Mission
The Campus Activities Board provides opportunities for students to become effective and productive leaders, as well as develop personal, professional, and leadership skills, through the planning and execution of a variety of activities for students, faculty, and staff of The Ohio State University Mansfield and North Central State College.
Article II. Membership
Membership of the Campus Activities Board shall be open to all Students currently enrolled at OSU-M and NCSC.
A.) Duties/ Responsibilities
Section 1
CAB members are required to attend meetings and at least one event every month.
CAB members who fulfill the attendance requirement are eligible to receive
free game room and other (?) privileges.
Section 2
If a CAB member fails to fulfill the weekly attendance requirement will lose
privileges for the upcoming week and is ineligible to receive the CAB Member
of the Week Award.
Section 3
CAB Members who fail to fulfill the monthly requirement will lose privileges
for the month and will have to attend two consecutive monthly events (or the
next two events, which ever comes first) in order to be eligible for privileges.
Section 4
CAB Members who have other obligations such as work, children, important assignments,
and those struck with health problems will not be penalized.
Section 5
CAB Members who feel they have a legitimate reason for missing may appeal by making
a statement at the end of the weekly meeting in which the case will be brought
to a vote by the present CAB members.
Article III. Officers
The three officers and the Assistant Coordinator of Campus Life shall oversee weekly CAB meetings and events.
A.) Chairs
Two Co-Chairpersons shall govern, and represent the Mansfield Campus Campus Activities Board to the best of their abilities.
Duties
1.) Consists of overseeing meetings and events.
2.) Representing the CAB at orientations, and other events when required.
3.) Will be responsible for choosing the CAB member of the week after the second meeting of the year, and in the case of the absence of the previous winner.
B.) Secretary
There shall be one Secretary to record all ideas/issues discussed at the weekly meetings.
Duties
1.) The Secretary is in charge of recording at the weekly meetings.
2.) The Secretary is also responsible for facilitating all weekly results and future plans, via email each Friday.
3.) In the event that one of the Co-Chairpersons cannot attend a meeting or an event, the Secretary will become an acting chairperson.
C.) Replacement
Section 1
In the event of a officer resignation, dismissal, or graduation, CAB
Chairpersons will be responsible for nominating new officers for the next
quarter/year.
Section 2
The Chairs may forfeit their nomination in order to give the chance for
all CAB members to make their own desired nominations for officers.
Section 3
After the nomination process, CAB members will vote for the most eligible
persons.
Section 4
Chairpersons will not be eligible to vote if they have decided to nominate
a candidate.
Section 5
If the Chairpersons have decided to forfeit their nomination, they become
eligible to vote.
Section 6
Candidates who receive the most votes will become the next chairperson.
Section 7
In the event of a tiebreak, a secret ballot vote will be administered
where all members (including Chairpersons and the Assistant Coordinator) are eligible
to participate.
Article IV. Meetings
Section 1
Meetings will be held every Thursday at 12:00 Noon in the Eisenhower Student
Union.
Section 2
At the end of each meeting, the previous CAB Member of the Week winner
will choose the next winner.
Article V. Amendments
A.) Process
1.) In the event of needed changes, amendments will be brought to a vote where all are eligible.
2.) A simple majority (50% + 1) is required to amend the Campus Activities Board Constitution.
