Dr. Gilberto Cárdenas, Director of the Institute of Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame, will present a lecture on Immigration. In his lecture, Dr. Cárdenas will discuss contemporary issues pertaining to Mexican immigration, drawing on historical foundations of immigration policy, utilizing a visual presentation based on contemporary artwork addressing immigration issues. These issues will include works from the "CARAS VEMOS" exhibit inaugurated at the University of Notre Dame's Snite Museum in fall of 2006 and currently on national tour. This event is part of the University of Notre Dame's Hesburgh Lectures. the Arts and Lectures Committee is pleased to offer this presentation in partnership with the local Notre Dame Alumni Club.
