Mansfield Board



The Mansfield Board assists the Dean and Director in promoting campus priorities, maintaining key relationships with external constituencies, serving as an advocate for the campus and the university with the state legislature and state and local agencies, and ensuring effective coordination with the co-located technical board and with the Columbus campus through service on Columbus-based councils and committees. The Mansfield Board offers advice and guidance on the strategic plan, master campus plan, safety and security plans and on matters relating to the budget, capital projects, tuition and fee proposals and other similar issues.

 

ticoras_christ
Christ J. Ticoras (Chair) graduated in 1987, summa cum laude with distinction, with a B.S. in Pharmacy from The Ohio State University, and received his M.D. from Wright State University in 1991. Subsequently, he served an Internal Medicine Internship and Dermatology Residency at Wright State. He has taught at OSU, Wright State University, and the University of Arizona. The recipient of numerous academic and military awards and honors, he also has a number of publications and has made 40 academic presentations. He currently practices dermatology in Mansfield and Ashland, Ohio.

Patrick A. Heydinger (Vice-Chair) begins his first term on the Mansfield Board this year. He is the Executive Director of Mansfield Metropolitan Housing Authority. He completed his first two years of college at OSU Mansfield and graduated from OSU with a B.A. in Journalism. A long-time member of the OSU Alumni Association and the OSU Alumni Club of Richland County, he has also served on the Mansfield University Foundation, the MRA Chamber of Commerce, The Richland County Fair Housing Commission, as a board member of the Mohican School of Out of Doors, and is a member of the Shelby Athletic Booster Club, in addition to many other agencies and community associations.

Mark F. Brunn (Secretary) is the Director of Business Markets with CenturyLink, where he has served in various leadership roles in enterprise sales and strategic planning since 1982. He received a B.S. in Education from The Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from OSU's Fisher College of Business. He has participated on numerous community boards and currently is Chair of the Mansfield City Schools Fiscal Accountability Committee and serves on the Elder Board at Ontario Christian Fellowship.
daniels
R. Dave Daniels is a newly appointed member of the Mansfield Board who has been appointed as a member of the Campus Facilities and Planning Committee. A graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Education/Economics, he has worked as a teacher, held several positions in support of education and government within the telecommunications industry, and is currently with 3-D Consultants. He has an extensive list of community and educational service credits and is an active member of the Knox County Alumni Club.

Anne Epperson, a former Mansfield Board member, now represents OSU Mansfield on the OSU Alumni Council. She and husband, Boyd, helped OSU-M collect $100,000 to establish an endowed scholarship for Galion students, and they donated $100,000 for The Boyd and Anne Epperson Grand Atrium in Riedl Hall. She and Boyd were recipients of the Judge Robert M. Duncan Alumni Citizenship Award by the OSU Alumni Association in 2008 and the 1996 Development Volunteer Award by the OSU Development Office. Anne will attend the three-day Alumni Council meetings in Columbus twice yearly during her three-year term and bring that news to board meetings.

Michael J. Howard is the newest appointee to the Mansfield Board. As the Group Commander of the 179th Mission Support Group, Ohio Air National Guard, Mansfield, Ohio, he administers and supervises over 400 personnel who provide critical war-fighting and peacetime support to the 179th Airlift Wing. He received a Bachelor of Arts at Cleveland State University and is a graduate of the USAF Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College and Air War College from Maxwell AFB. He has been awarded numerous service medals and decorations and was deployed during Operation Eduring Freedom and Operation Noble Eagle. He is currently President of the Board of Directors for the North End Community Improvement Collaborative and is a member of the Board of Directors of Friendly House.

John R. Shuler is both a 1985 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Agriculture cum laude and The College of Veterinary Medicine cum laude. He is the owner of Horizon Animal Hospital, Inc., a small animal practice located in Galion, Ohio. Dr. Shuler is very active in his community serving on many boards. Some positions held include being a board member of the Galion Community Foundation, board member and past president of the Crawford County, Ohio Humane Society, past president and member of the North Central Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the Board of Directors of the Ohio Animal Health Foundation, and serving currently as President of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association.
siegenthaler

Pamela H. Siegenthaler joins the OSU Mansfield Board this year after serving as the President and CEO of the Richland County Foundation for 16 years. She received the B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University and the M.B.A. from Ashland University. She is a past board member of the MedCentral Health System, the YWCA, Planned Parenthood, Mansfield Art Center, the Center for Individual and Family Services, and was twice elected to the Mansfield City Schools Board of Education. She is currently serving on SPARC, the P-16 initiative for Ashland, Richland & Crawford Counties, is chair of the board of the First Congregational Church and is on the planning committee for TWIN (Tribute to Women & Industry).
