Name : Ozeas Costa
Position Title: Assistant Professor

Service:
On April 4, 2008, 38 students from Clear Fork High School visited our campus and attended a Google Earth workshop offered by Dr. Ozeas Costa, Assistant Professor of Earth Sciences. The students were accompanied by their Social Studies teacher, Mr. Ryan Tanner, and the High School Principal, Mr. Brian Brown.

Service:
Ozeas Costa and Ontario High School students today went out of the classroom to learn about stream geochemistry and environmental sciences. The group, led by Dr. Costa and science teacher Mr. Roger Nikiforow, are doing monthly field trips to local streams to collect samples of water, porewater, and sediment for chemical analysis. Tomorrow (May 2), Dr Costa will join Mrs. Jennifer Moore, a science teacher at Clear Fork High School, and her students for another field trip. This field work is part of the Clear Fork River Study, a partnership between OSU-Mansfield and the Ontario and Clear Fork Schools.

"ENSO teleconnections with precipitation, moisture regime, and water availability in the Ohio River watershed.” Paper Presented at the Annual Meeting of the North-Central Section of the Geological Society of America, Evansville, Indiana, April 25, 2008.

Service:
Ozeas Costa was the co-chair of session 21-T2 "A Surface Water Sojourn" at the Annual Meeting of the North-Central Section of the Geological Society of America, which was held in Evansville, Indiana, between 24 and 26 of April, 2008.

Something Different, Something Real This Friday Night!

The Mansfield Chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ will host an SDSR event on from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, May 16th in the Student Union, second floor of the Eisenhower Center. WEDNESDAY, MAY 14TH

Adam Miller from Crown Services, will be on campus (cafeteria) on 5/14 from 10-3 to recruit students (needs 16-20) for a one time event for MedCentral employees.There will be a Monte Carlo night for their employees on Friday, May 30th. The recruiter needs Black Jack dealers. The hourly wage is $12.50 per hour. Dealers will be needed for 8 hours of work.Desired qualification is familiarity with the game.There will be some training.
