CONSTRUCTION ROADWAY CHANGES

Ovalwood Renovation will begin this week with the contractor preparing University Drive to be closed for the next 15 months. The Oval roadway will be closed from immediately past Parking Lot #1 (gated lot) to its end at Kenwood Circle across from Reidl Hall. Access will be maintained for construction, service and emergency vehicles.

The RCT Bus Stop will be relocated to the east end (toward the CRC) of Parking Lot #2. The spot we've typically used in the past during similar roadway closures.

Founders Hall will remain open during the Ovalwood Renovation. Pedestrian access will be maintained to Founders during construction.

Handicapped Parking Spaces along University Drive will be relocated to Parking Lots #2, #3 and immediately adjacent to the new Buckeye Haven classrooms.

7:00 A.M. until Noon

Power will be out on the Mansfield Campus this Sunday 20 May 2007 from 7:00 a.m. until noon. Power will be out in all buildings, except Fallerius Hall and Kee Hall. This planned outage is necessary to connect Buckeye Haven modular classroom units to the Campus grid and conduct maintenance on the electric distribution system.

BUCKEYE HAVEN MODULARS

Development of the Buckeye Haven classroom complex in Parking Lot #4 across from Riedl Hall (see attached) will begin with the arrival of the first modular unit on 15 March 2007. Over 10,000 square feet of space will provide ten (10) OSU-Mansfield general classrooms, a Center for Corporate and Community Education classroom & office and restroom facilities.

Buckeye Haven, in part, will provide temporary space beginning June 2007 through August 2008 for many functions relocating during the major interior renovation of Ovalwood Hall. Other interim space needs will be supplied in Bromfield, Conard and Eisenhower Halls.

The attached simplified site plans may help familiarize you with the coming Buckeye Haven development.

Free ample parking remains available on Campus. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience as our Campus continues to grow and improve.

CAMPUS VENDING MACHINE REPLACEMENT
BEGINS WEDNESDAY 6 SEPTEMBER

Removal of existing vending machines across the Mansfield Campus will occur Wednesday 6 September and Thursday 7 September. Our new provider, American Food & Vending Corporation, will be installing replacement machines a day or two after. Maintenance and custodial crews will be working and cleaning these areas during the transition.

The goal is to have all areas servicing early the week of 11 September. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this transition period. Please contact Plant Operations & Maintenance (419) 755-4216 if you have any questions.

CAMPUS SECURITY - WE'VE MOVED !

Mansfield Campus Security has moved into their new office in Riedl Hall. See attached map. The exterior entrance door is located on the west side of the new building, just off the new parking lot. Security visitor parking is located immediately adjacent to the office.

All Campus Security telephone and emergency numbers remain the same. No change! Please contact the Security Office at (419) 755-4218 if you have any questions.

Other Riedl Hall tenants will be moving into the new building the week of 7 August 2006.

LIMITED POWER OUTAGE IN OVALWOOD HALL

A limited power outage for Ovalwood Hall and Founders Hall only has been scheduled for Saturday 8 April between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Crews will be inspecting electrical equipment involved in the Ovalwood Hall renovation project. Mansfield Campus Contruction Notice

Spring has returned to Campus and so has outside construction. More curb & sidewalk replacement and new ramp installation will occur near the intersection of University Drive and Kenwood Circle Drives across from the new building construction. See attached map.

Work will occur 30 March - 14 April depending on the weather.

Vehicle traffic will be maintained, although at times reduced to one lane. Some slight delay may be experienced. Both Campus entrances will be open. However, use of the Lexington-Springmill Road is encouraged.

Planned Power Outage
Thursday, 25 November 2005

Power on the Mansfield Campus will be shut down during the Thanksgiving Holiday break on Friday 25 November. Mansfield Campus buildings will not be open and access for safety reasons will be prohibited.
Permanent power connection to the new Administration & Classroom Building and electric maintenance work will be accomplished during the shut-down.
Accomplishing the work during break should minimize any inconvenience. Please contact Brian White at Plant Operations & Maintenance (419) 755-4227 if you have questions.
This outage will not impact power at the Kehoe Center or Molyet Village Apartments.

New and replacement sidewalk construction will occur near the intersection of University Drive and Kenwood Circle Drives adjacent to the new building construction during the next several weeks.

Final work on the Administration & Classroom Building Phase 1 "site construction" has resumed. Phase 2 "building construction" Will begin within several weeks.

Before the end of April the east end of parking Lot #4 will be converted to a construction staging area and remain closed to parking until April 2006. See attached map. This area will be used to support construction and help minimize the impact to Kenwood Circle Drive and University Drive roadway traffic. Parking may continue in this area until barricades are erected in the next several weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience and will restore parking spaces as quickly as construction progress allows.

The gravel walkway through the new wetlands is open. The landscape contractor will continue wetlands and meadowlands work through the spring. Tours of the Wetlands Ecology Research Area will be offered as part of Campus Earth Week activities. Tours are at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday 19 April beginning at the Schuttera Service Center (Maintenance Building).
